MISSION STATEMENT
To establish and nurture relationships among convoke members and the sorrounding community,thereby fostering personal success and enriching the convoke community.
VISION
Our goal is to subtly change the lives of others by working together as a convocation to provide service to members and sorrounding comunity.
Next meeting is on 03/02/2004 to discuss the Goals and Objectives of the Indian Convoke..at Kampala Institute Buganda Road..starting 6:00pm
Who We Are:
Indian Convoke began in Sept 2000, with a goal to bridge the gap between former students of India who are now in Uganda. The Indian Convoke comprises of former students of India, friends and well wishers
Where We Came From:
Indian Convoke was the brainchild of a few individuals like Mr Stephen Ssali and Yahyah Kakembo among others who sat and came up with an idea of reviving the old team that was once together while in India. It was an idea but now it is turning into reality.
Where We Are Headed:
To achieve the goals as outlined by our constitution.
The main objectives of the Indian Convoke are as under:
1.Social
2.Economic
3.Academic
Social
-Get together gatherings
-Rescue of stranded students from India.(Vision)
-Convoke to have a backup fund for students faced with hardships in India.(Vision)
-Convoke to liaise with parents on behalf of students.
-Support to the bereaved.
-Support towards marriage ceremonies, introduction ceremonies etc.
-Internet / Online services.
Economic:
-Employment .
-Economic Development.
-Spirit of saving
-Developmental projects.
Academic.
-Securing admissions in India for Ugandans.
-Career Guidance Section.
-Upgrade on courses by the convoke members (ACCA,CPA etc).Masters,Phd (The sky is the limit).
-Convoke to liaise with Ugandan authorities about Indian Education.
-Seminars and workshops.
